Horizon Values
We understand that the four cornerstones of our values are the following:
1. Building relationships to further God’s kingdom. We understand that the highest value in God’s creation is upon relationships. We hold that divinely strategic relationships are given by God to build His kingdom and to further His purposes in the earth.
2. Autonomy within community. We believe that divine authority for spiritual government on earth is given to the local expression of His church. Hence each local church and ministry operates in autonomy. But we understand that no one is ever called to walk alone in this life; hence, God-given autonomy finds balance and purpose in the context of community.
3. Local mission within a world-wide vision. Every church has a God-given mission to reach the community where they have been divinely planted. Every ministry birthed by the Holy Spirit is given a jurisdiction corresponding to its divine mandate. However, it is essential for the health and balance of the local work to embrace a world vision and be engaged to build with other like-minded churches and ministries beyond their local borders.
4. Passion for the presence of God and compassion for the lost. It is God’s plan that all those who come to salvation become true disciples of Jesus Christ, passionate for His presence and his purposes. At the same time all churches and ministries must be fully committed to reaching the lost and expanding the kingdom of heaven on earth. In pursuing greater understanding of the unique calling and purpose upon our family of churches and ministries we believe God has called us to an inclusive spirit and a spirit of cooperation with all those who are of the faith.
